Alloway State School is located twelve kilometres from the city of Bundaberg. It was part of the former Burnett Shire which serviced the area of Alloway, Calavos and Coonarr Beach and is now part of the Bundaberg Regional Council.
Alloway State School is quite a historical area with the school being opened in 1886. Surrounded by small crops and cane, the school is part of a picturesque rural landscape. Although it has the attributes of a small country school, Alloway State School is quite unique in the fact that it is on the edge of the city.
The Alloway State School P&C Association works closely with the school to meet the needs of the students and to provide support with the school grounds through working bees. The P&C provides the bus for our annual swimming lessons in term four, subsidises our bi-annual camps, excursions, arts council and supports the annual book fair.
The Alloway State School P&C is supported by the local country club, and have also developed partnerships with the local business and farms in the area.
